Multiple apple ids

I have a new iphone (5S) and created a new apple ID (with my new e-mail) on that phone. But then found that all my contacts from my previous iphone4 or ipad (connected to my other Apple id) did not sync. How can I pull my contacts from my ipad (which is on the old apple id) to my new iphone wiht my new and preferred apple id?
